VRPA served as a key subconsultant to Mott MacDonald on this effort to plan a cross-valley transit corridor to connect major cities and activity centers in Tulare and Kings Counties with each other and to the planned Tulare/Kings High Speed Rail Station. VRPA led the public outreach effort and also assisted in the development of ridership forecasts by transit and other modes. VRPA’s scope included developing tailored access strategies for key stations in the Corridor. These strategies aimed to improve and transit and paratransit, optimize parking, and support desirable economic development. Public involvement strategies were coordinated through a multi-agency Work Plan Team and included: project branding including development of a project logo; development of a webpage for the Tulare County Association of Governments website; development of quarterly newsletters in English and Spanish; a series of early plan visioning workshops; a series of late study workshops conducted to present vision options including land use, economic, and transportation recommendations; workshop preparations including development of noticing pieces, noticing Eblast, transit noticing, and Fresno Bee print and banner ads.
