VRPA was responsible for the development of the Traffic Impact Study for the Riverbend Sand and Gravel Facility which includes mining activities on approximately 619 acres. The proposed aggregate mining facility is located north and south of Goodfellow Avenue between the Kings River and Riverbend Avenue approximately 1.5 miles southeast of the City of Sanger. The entire Project site is approximately 833 acres, which includes 619 acres to be used for mining activities and 214 acres of existing riparian habitat along the Kings River that is excluded from the Project. The Project site is relatively flat and currently consists of orchards and vineyards. The Hanke Ditch is piped and runs through the eastern portion of the Project site north of Goodfellow Avenue and is an open ditch along the east side of the Project site south of Goodfellow Avenue.
